So, my high school has us design a project to work on throughout the course of our senior as a graduation requirement. As my project I wanted to do something that incoorperated a passion I had as well as a way to get outdoors and explore the city I live in more. In the upcoming year I will be attending college to study Environmental Management and Protection, an interest that sparked from my AP Environmental Science class taken during my junior year. In that class we learned about the issues rooted from becoming a developed area and I decided to take that knowledge and apply it to the greater Los Angeles. I'm setting out to research areas that have been impacted by human exploitation that are already familiar to me given that my mom is an avid hiker and my APES teacher has a lot of resources. I've picked a series of hikes that I will be doing after looking into ways they have been degraded by its surroundings as well as different restoration efforts and I'm really excited to share what I learn and see here !
